Aircraft

These aircraft, all the work of Wolfgang Piper with the exception of the ASW28, have been downloaded from his website www.fsglider.de and modified to include the VET simulated winch launch system (also downloadable from www.fsglider.de) and the UK VGA repaints. Because installing the VET system is not trivial, we decided to do the installation for members. Wolfgang has very kindly given his permission for the UK VGA to make these modified aircraft available to download and we encourage you to visit his site to try out his other excellent glider models.

We have tried to contact Peter Franke for permission to make the ASW-28 available, but we have learned through other sources that no-one has heard from him in the virtual gliding community for 3 years. We are therefore making the hard to find ASW28 available here in the spirit of the well recognised philosophy of sharing free resources among flight simmers. Should Peter contact us and decline to give permission, we regret that the ASW28 will have to be withdrawn.

Additional Aircraft Installation Instructions for FS9

You will need some additional files to install the gliders correctly, download these here (49.41 Kb). The free download contains 2 files: SOARRec.dll and FSSound.dll.

Open FS9.cfg in Notepad and add the following entry:
[OLDMODULES]
SOARRec.dll = 1
FSSound.dll = 1

The location of FS9.cfg will vary depending on your Windows version, for Windows XP/2000 this file is located in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\

In the \MODULES folder of FS9 put the following files:

• SOARRec.dll
• FSSound.dll
• FSUIPC.dll

If you don't have FSUIPC.dll then you can download FSUIPC (free) from The Official Peter Dowson Page. Make sure you download the correct, latest, version for FS9 (FS2004). Unzip the downloaded file into a temporary folder and run "Install FSUIPC.EXE" This will place FSUIPC.DLL in your FS9 Modules folder.

Additional Aircraft Installation Instructions for FSX

You will need some additional files to install the gliders correctly, download these here (49.41 Kb). The free download contains 2 files: SOARRec.dll and FSSound.dll.

In the main program folder of FSX (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\) put the following files:

• SOARRec.dll
• FSSound.dll

If you don't have FSUIPC.dll then you can download FSUIPC (free) from The Official Peter Dowson Page. Make sure you download the correct, latest, version for FSX. Unzip the downloaded file into a temporary folder and run "Install FSUIPC.EXE" This will place FSUIPC.DLL in your FSX Modules folder.
